Review

When an on-the-rise heart surgeon in a major hospital has his life come crashing down, he finds himself moving to a very small town to be its doctor. And since it's his hometown, all sorts of old friends and enemies have him ruing the day he left the big city. The Australian TV drama Doctor Doctor ran for five seasons on Nine Network between 2016 and 2021, in large part by starring a dude Mr. Man wanted to play doctor with. Rodger Corser played Hugh Knight, a cocaine addicted heart surgeon living the rich playboy life in the big city. But when he slips up and the law comes after him, the only way to avoid prison time is by spending a year as a general practitioner in his rural hometown, Whyhope. But while he was a big deal in the big city, the people of Whyhope either don't care about him or remember him as a snot nose kid and still think of him that way. Charlie Knight (Nicole da Silva) remembers back when they were dating, but the novelist is now married to Hugh's brother Matt (Ryan Johnson). Throw in all sorts of crazy rural situations Hugh has to deal with, people from his past he has no desire to rekindle his relationships with, and all sorts of other sitcom stuff and you can see how this suspiciously similar to Doc Hollywood (1991) show became such a hit. Rodger Corser plays the good doc who writes us a prescription for happiness when he goes for a swim at the lake with a woman. As he lounges in his trunks with his shirt off, we get to enjoy his wet, fit upper body. We get another look at his upper body when he comes out of the shower wearing nothing but a towel around his waist. Plus, we get a good look at the beefy Dave Eastgate in a pink Speedo, a glimpse of legitimate glutes from Ryan Johnson as he bangs a chick, James Lugton living life in a diaper, and more! Doctor Doctor, we've got a bad case of loving you!
