Classic literature always aces the test of time — especially when the timeless characters, plots and themes can be updated into contemporary teen flicks. Amy Heckerling’s Clueless (1995) is a retelling of Jane Austen’s  novel “Emma” (1815). Easy A (2010) is a reboot of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s book “The Scarlet Letter” (1850). She’s All That (1999) was first seen by Victorians via George Bernard Shaw’s play “Pygmalion” (1913). And William Shakespeare’s 16th century works had a real renaissance when “Romeo and Juliet” inspired West Side Story (1961); “The Taming of the Shrew” became 10 Things I Hate About You (1999); “Twelfth Night” turned into She’s the Man (2006); and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” was the basis for Get Over It (2001). The latter pic kicks into action when high school basketball big shot Berke Landers (Ben Foster) gets dumped by his gal Allison (Melissa Sagemiller). His buddies Felix (Colin Hanks) and Dennis (Sisqo) do everything they can to get his mind off of her, but not even a sex club, Carmen Electra, or an arrest will whip his head and heart straight. Ben just can’t get over it, especially when he discovers Allison and her boy-band boy-toy Stryker (Shane West) are trying out for the school musical. Luckily, Felix’s sister (Kirsten Dunst) helps Berke hatch a plot to win her back. Being teener fare, this movie is short on skin, but it does include a scrumptious view of Mr. Foster’s bare buns in a jock strap. We bet you can’t get over that!
