Biography

9021 Oh! Coming straight at you from the ‘90s, heartthrob Ian Ziering had the piercing blue eyes, sexy blonde hair, and a thousand-watt smile that made him a pin-up poster boy during his climb to fame as Steve Sanders in Beverly Hills, 90210. Not the boy next door like Brandon, or the bad-boy like Dylan, Steve had to rely on his charm and fat wallet to impress the crowd. While he may look like the quintessential California beach boy, Ian was actually born and raised in West Orange, New Jersey. He got his official on-screen start playing Sammy in the Brooke Shields’ film Endless Love (1981) when he was 17. A few years later, he nabbed a recurring role as Cameron Stewart in the daytime soap opera The Guiding Light from 1986-1988. And then, two years later, Beverly Hills, 90210 plucked him out of anonymity for 292 episodes, for an entire decade, from 1990-2000. While he mostly focused on the FOX hit during that time, you can also see him as Victor Seriano in No Way Back (1995) with Russell Crowe, and hear him as the voice of Vinnie in Biker Mice From Mars from 1993-1996 and 2006-2007, as Wildwing in Mighty Ducks from 1996-1997, and as Dr. Nick Tatopoulos in Godzilla: The Series from 1998-2001. Think Ian looks familiar but you’ve never tuned in to the Brenda drama? You probably know him from one his later works, usually an epically camp movie made for TV. His character Fin Shephard in Sharknado (2013) landed him a new legion of fans, and spawned all sorts of sequels. Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! (2015) has him emerging from the water looking all ripped and muscly, proving the age of 51 aint nothin’ but a number. Like 90210.
