Love Matters (1993)

Lust matters in Love Matters (1993). Although made for cable, this flick takes a candid and sophisticated look at long-term relationships as it explores marital infidelity and individual fulfillment. The drama chronicles the fragility of two couples. Instead of enjoying 10 years of wedded bliss, Tom (Griffin Dunne) avoids his wife Julie (Annette O’Toole) by burying himself in work. As a professor, she does the same by spending her time grading students’ papers. Meanwhile, Tom’s best bud Geoffrey (Tony Goldwyn) is cheating on his wife Debra (Kate Burton), who is concerned that her spouse has been MIA for three days. He said he was on a business trip but he was actually pleasuring his mistress Heather (Gina Gershon). In fact, Geoffrey and Heather actually turn up at Tom and Julie’s home. There, he confides in Tom, saying he’s in love with Heather and plans to leave Debra. The unhappy host isn’t exactly sure what to do with this information — especially when he happens upon Geoff and Heather getting it on in the shower. The two sure know how to have fun despite the fact that Debra eventually crashes the party, making Heather realize she’s “the other woman.” Nevertheless, we get to be a fly on the wall when Geoff undoes his fly and sheds his threads to seduce his lady love. As the naked fornicators get it on throughout the place, we get to view Mr. Goldwyn’s bare back. If that’s not arousing enough, he also flashes his ass. Buns matter!
