Police Story (1985)

You’ll have a kick-ass time while watching the action flick Police Story (1985), not to be confused with the same-named cop show that ran on TV from 1973 to 1980. Thanks to the writing, directing and acting skills of martial artist Jackie Chan, this PG-13 movie offers laughs and lunges as the Hong Kong-set romp follows Sergeant “Kevin” Chan Ka-Kui (Chan). His boss Chief Inspector Raymond Li (Lam Kwok-Hung) tells him he must protect a witness named Salina Fong (Brigitte Lin). Of course, she turns out to be a handful in more ways than one. Obviously, Kevin’s girlfriend May (Maggie Cheung) is not very pleased, especially when she sees Ms. Fong donning seductive lingerie. But the cop has a job to do, even if it means being framed for murder! Before he can clear his name, Kevin has to catch crime lord Tom Koo, also known as Chu Tao (Chor Yuen). While on this mission, he engages in flexible kung fu fights. If that’s not dangerous enough, Kevin is pelted with a cake by his jealous girlfriend. As such, he has to wash himself off. While in the shower, we are treated to views of Mr. Chan’s amazing abs and his nude booty too! As you can guess, the exotic hottie steams up the camera lens. No wonder this pic spawned the sequels Police Story 2 (1988), Police Story 3: Supercop (1992), Police Story 4: First Strike (1996), New Police Story (2004), and Police Story 2013 (2013). It’s criminal there’s no more!
