The Extinction of Fireflies (2021)

The Extinction of Fireflies is James Andrew Walsh’s cinematic adaption of his own play of the same name, which just happens to be about a gay playwright named James (Drew Droege) who gathers a group of friends for a weekend in the country in order to work on his new play - based on the romance between Roman Emperor Hadrian and his young lover, Antinous - the title of which just happens to be “The Extinction of Fireflies”. They do say write what you know, right? His friends include aged British former television star Charlotte (Tracie Bennett), guileless actor Jay (Michael Urie), and Jay’s hot young lover Callisto (Kario Marcel). It’s a character study filled with catty quips and the sexy, very kissable Kario in a speedo. As the sparks fly between the gorgeous Greek and Droege’s James after Callisto takes a lurid late night dip, you’ll be dying for him to drop the towel and show the rest of that sumptuous bod!
