Lords of Chaos (2019)

Scandinavia’s black metal scene (among other things) is exposed in Lords of Chaos (2019), not to be confused with The Lords of Flatbush (1974) starring Sylvester Stallone and Perry King or The Lords of Dogtown (2005) with Emile Hirsch and Heath Ledger. Blending music, horror and reality, this creepy biopic is based on Michael Moynihan’s non-fiction book “Lords of Chaos” (1998) which follows the rise and fall of Norwegian band Mayhem. The group’s founder Øystein “Euronymous” Aarseth (Rory Culkin) infamously blurred the lines between promotional stunts and actual crimes until it all led to murder. Along the way, we meet author/musician Kristian “Varg” Vikernes (Emory Cohen), bassist Jørn “Necrobutcher” Stubberud (Jonathan Barnwell), drummer Bård Guldvik “Faust” Eithun (Valter Skarsgård), drummer Jan Axel “Hellhammer” Blomberg (Anthony De La Torre), and frontman Pelle “Dead” Ohlin (Jack Kilmer). Under the direction of Jonas Åkerlund (who co-wrote the screenplay with Dennis Magnusson), the irreverent flick features its fair share of skin! Not only does a shirtless Mr. Culkin don a wig and bulging briefs in the urban landscape, Mr. Kilmer bares his back and butt when stripping in the woods. Not to be outdone, Mr. Cohen shows off his chest and prosthetic peen while having sex on screen. If that’s not erotic enough, he continues to display his naked T&A during another bedroom hump. As his character thrusts deep inside Ann-Marit (Sky Ferreira), we see the actor’s rump yet long for more of his schlong. Nevertheless, the metal movie’s nudity will make you bang your head!
